Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.
Our team is currently working under a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to report to the workplace 3 days per week. Virtual employment will not be considered.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Completion of post-secondary education in health and safety or related field.
Occupational Certification (at least one of the following):
• Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
• Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST)
• Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC)
• Certified Public Health Inspector (CPHI)
• Experience managing an occupational health and safety program (risk prevention program, job hazard analyses, work place accident management program, etc.), policies, procedures, projects or directives.
• Experience providing advice and guidance to senior management, unions and stakeholders regarding the interpretation and/or application of federal or provincial Occupational Health and Safety regulations, standards and/or industry codes of practice.
• Experience in conducting investigations, inspections and providing national support and training.
• Experience engaging in business and/ or operational planning, budget forecasting and preparing businesses cases to obtain senior management engagement (executive level and above)

Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

HOW TO APPLY:
You will be required to answer screening questions to demonstrate how you meet the Essential Qualifications (Education and all Essential Experiences).
