Step 1: Screening (Review of Applications)

Step 2: Assessment

▶ An interview and/or written exam may be administered.
▶ Reference checks, as well as reviews of past performance appraisals, may be conducted. The Assessment Committee reserves the right to contact references other than those provided by the candidates (within the Public Service only) in order to adequately assess the candidates.

Duties

🍁The Case Manager position is attached to the Field Operations Division with the core mandate of delivering direct services to our Veterans and their families. With more than 1,200 employees across the country, Field Operations has a wealth of knowledge, skills, abilities and strengths in multiple areas thanks to its diverse workforce. The opportunity for movement brings renewal to our workforce and creates a stimulating work environment. We work together to create healthy workplaces by ensuring people feel valued, where employee development, transparency and wellness are fostered.

Case management services support Veterans who are facing complex challenges. It is a collaborative process between the client and Case Manager with support from the interdisciplinary teams to identify needs, set goals and create a plan to help clients achieve their highest level of independence, health and well-being.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a pool or partially assessed pool of candidates to fill similar or identical positions with various language profiles, durations (term, indeterminate, assignment, secondment, acting appointment and deployment) and conditions of employment in Veterans Affairs Canada or other Federal Government Departments.

Education:
1️⃣Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in understanding, or assessment of human behavior (the degree program must have also included the completion of a practicum or field placement for graduation); and Experience in case management* (minimum 6 months within the last 5 years).

OR

2️⃣Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution; and Experience in case management* (minimum of 1 year).

* For the purposes of this staffing process, VAC defines 'case management' as:
1. Engagement and relationship building
2. Assessment
3. Analysis and Consultation
4. Case planning and Implementation
5. Monitoring and evaluation
6. Conclusion

Degree equivalency

Experience:
EX1 - Experience in the delivery of health and social services in an interdisciplinary environment.
EX2 - Experience in maintaining effective community networks and partnerships.

Operational Requirements:
• Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license or personal mobility to a degree normally associated with the possession of a valid driver's license.
• Case Managers are assigned to a primary work location but may be required to work at various locations and travel between these locations.
• Must be willing on occasion, to officially represent the Department at functions such as conferences, commemorative events, etc.
• Consent to be deployed or assigned within the Area office, as per the organizational needs.
