Duties

As a Food Service Attendant, some duties may include:
↪ Assisting in the preparation of food, independently, or as part of a team;
↪ operating cash registers/Point of Sale Terminals to collect meal charges from clients;
↪ assisting in the receiving, unloading, and storage of food items;
↪ and cleaning, and maintaining food services facilities.

⚓This position is located at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt. CFB Esquimalt is located west of Victoria, British Columbia, has a long history within the community. It was first established as a military installation by the Royal Navy in 1855 and has continually served the Royal Canadian Navy since its inception in 1910. It is the 3rd largest base in Canada (by population) and is home to the Pacific Fleet, one of two Naval Formations.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill sixteen (16) full-time term (temporary) positions in Esquimalt, British Columbia. These are English essential, 2-year term positions, with the possibility of becoming indeterminant (permanent) in the future.

The official location of the position (designated worksite) to be staffed is Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Esquimalt and requires full-time onsite attendance.

As a result of this process, a pool of candidates may be established and used to fill the same or similar positions with various tenures, operational requirements, and conditions of employment.

• Must be willing and able to complete a valid Food Handlers Course – Food Safe Level 1 (based on the location of the position being staffed).
• Must be willing and able to work shift schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must be willing and able to wear and utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in compliance with safety regulations.
• Must be willing and able to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 20 kg.
• Must be willing and able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
