Our offices are in the Sir William Logan Building at 580 Booth Street in Ottawa’s Little Italy neighbourhood, steps away from Dow’s Lake, the Rideau Canal, the Arboretum and Preston Street. Lunch time walks or runs, skating in the winter, lunches or after work gatherings at wide variety of eateries and/or pubs offer quality of life additions to busy workdays. The Sir William Logan Building is also close to the O-Train and major bus routes.
This is an anticipatory process to fill one position on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements, and with various conditions of employment.

Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
*Significant experience providing advice and recommendations to clients and management on complex** IT implementation strategies.
*Significant experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining applications.
*Significant experience working with teams of IT professionals to develop solutions to meet business needs.
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over approximately 3 years.
** Complex is defined as involving multidisciplinary teams and interfaces with multiple systems and stakeholder groups
Any higher level of education that is relevant to the position to be staffed from a recognized post-secondary institution (i.e. computer science, information technology or information management) may be recognized as an asset.
