📍 The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) will be following the direction from the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. This common hybrid work model will consist of work on site at least 2–3 days each week, or 40–60% of their regular schedule.

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) is looking for dynamic candidates to join its procurement team (Operations and/or Policy). In addition, DFO offers a working environment where work life flexibility is really important.
★ OPERATIONS ★
As part of the operations team, you will have the opportunity to award contracts for the acquisition of goods, services and construction for both DFO and the Canadian Coast Guard. You will collaborate with the various clients on a regular basis to anticipate and analyze their requirements, develop strategies and options to meet objectives and provide advice on very interesting projects.
★ POLICY ★
As part of the Policy, Monitoring and Reporting team, you will have the exciting opportunity to perform tasks such as reviewing and implementing procurement policy documents, preparing procurement reports, providing procurement training, resolving contracting issues, etc.
➔ The immediate need is to staff 3 positions. A list of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).

EDUCATION:
▪️ A secondary school diploma
EXPERIENCE:
▪️ *Significant experience in conducting contracting processes for goods, services or construction
▪️ Experience conducting at least three (3) **medium complexity competitive procurement processes for the acquisition of goods, services or construction
→ Definitions:
*Significant experience is defined as being one in which the person's primary responsibilities include these duties and refers to the breadth and depth as well as complexity of tasks that could be expected to have been obtained by carrying out the PG functions for an approximate period of eighteen (18) months. This experience may have been obtained in the private sector.
**Medium Complexity is defined as a procurement having a minimum of two (2) of the following characteristics:
1. High dollar value ($1M or more)
2. Consultation with multiple clients or stakeholders
3. Multi-phased evaluations
4. High profile or sensitive in nature
5. High-risk project (e.g., scope, security, emergency, departmental priorities, etc.)
6. Negotiation of non-standard terms and conditions
7. Subject to Comprehensive Land Claims Agreements
8. Resolution of bid evaluation or contracts management issues including procurement policy interpretations
9. Involving Government socio-economic considerations into projects such as Indigenous Procurement, green procurement, etc.
✷ ASSET QUALIFICATIONS ✷
EDUCATION:
▪️ Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a diploma in commerce, business administration, supply chain management, finance, science, or related to the position being staffed
▪️ Certification or Designation in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Materiel Management
EXPERIENCE:
▪️ Experience in managing the invitation to tender process for construction requirements
