INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY:
-You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and each of the experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications and any of the applicable asset qualifications on the Statement of Merit Criteria for the initial screening by answering the online screening questions.

-It is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities - you must also provide concrete examples. You must clearly demonstrate how, when, and where the qualification was met through substantiation by examples.

Aircraft Services Directorate (ASD) is located at the Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport. Our office is at 200 Comet Private, Ottawa ON.
The immediate intent of this process is to staff one (1) AME- Rotary Wing and one (1) AME – Fixed Wing in Ottawa, Ontario. A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical EG-06 positions with various language proficiencies (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB) within Aircraft Services in Ottawa, Ontario.

Education:
ED1 : Successful completion of a recognized postsecondary school program in aircraft maintenance or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer category License M1, or M2, or M1 and M2.
Experience:
EX1: Recent* and significant* experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer maintaining fixed or rotary wing aircraft.
*Definition of significant and recent experience: Significant experience means at least 3 years of relevant experience. Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
Experience:
Maintenance type training and/or experience maintaining one or more of the following aircraft types:
- King Air Series
- Cessna Citation II
- Bombardier Challenger 600/601/604/650/RJ
- De Havilland Dash-7/Dash-8 Series
- Bell 206
- Bell 407
- Bell 412
- Bell 429
Various language requirements

Operational Requirements:
For all positions:
OR1: Willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills, and abilities.
OR2: Willingness and ability to work in a flexible environment on a variable day work and/or shift work schedule, including weekends and some standby on the employee’s days of rest.
OR3: Willingness and ability work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying, and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
OR4: Available and willing to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends.
Secret security clearance
For all positions:
-Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
-Possession of a valid passport.
For some positions:
-Successful completion of medical examinations as prescribed by Health Canada.
-Willing and able to undertake initial and update dunker training.
