🚨 All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment.

Work environment

The RCMP is engaging with national Indigenous leaders and communities. Our employees in divisions and detachments across Canada are building stronger relationships with leaders and members of the hundreds of Indigenous communities we serve.

The Community Program Officer works with the RCMP core police service and provides a connection between the RCMP and the community. This position is in direct support to law enforcement activities as it engages the communities in mutual problem solving, providing a connection between the RCMP and the specific cultures, situations and expectations of indigenous communities.

This position will liaise with community professionals and groups, including local and provincial governments, indigenous leadership to promote community relations. Provides support for community-led initiatives and contribute to community mobilization. Participates in meetings and internal committees and provides community and crime prevention/reduction perspective in the development, review and evaluation of local programs and initiatives.

The "community" includes professionals from; social services; law enforcement; judicial, health and school organizations; governments, the private sector and non-profit organizations.

Intent of the process

Currently we have one indeterminate vacancy at the PM-03 group and level.

A qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff this and other similar positions, at the PM-03 group and level for term, indeterminate or acting at full or part-time hours or lower level positions.

Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member. Notification regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.
