ABOUT GLOBAL AFFAIRS CANADA

Global Affairs Canada manages Canada’s diplomatic relations, provides consular services to Canadians, promotes the country’s international trade, and leads Canada’s international development and humanitarian assistance.

The positions being staffed are within the International Supply Chain and International Procurement, Policy AND Community Development directorates at Global Affairs Canada. These directorates reside within the Platform Corporate Services Bureau, International Platform Branch.

The Platform Services Bureau is responsible for providing integrated financial, corporate, and departmental planning and reporting for the International Platform Branch. It is also responsible for directing the development and delivery of services to the Department, including missions and regions as they relate to procurement and contracting; materiel management; warehousing, distribution and transportation and diplomatic mail services.

Intent of the process

This process will be used to fill the current vacant position and a pool will be established to fill similar positions with various tenures and/or with various language profiles within Global Affairs Canada.

Education:

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Experience:

EX1 - Experience in providing interpretation and advice, or guidance to managers, clients or the public on procedures, policies or legislation in an operational setting.

EX2 - Experience providing services to clients in a fast-paced, high-volume or multi-tasking environment.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience:

AEx1 Experience in materiel management functions including but not limited to inventory management, asset management, disposals and fleet management.

AEx2 Experience acquiring goods or services or construction using various procurement methodologies (such as Standing Offers and Supply Arrangements, lower dollar value procurement, acquisition card procurement) within a business from the private sector or the federal government in a procurement and contracting environment.
