EDUCATION
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3. At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience working in an Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) environment focused on analyzing IM/IT requirements, delivering IM/IT solutions, or providing IM/IT support in a decentralized environment.

EX2: Experience in providing advice to technical groups on best practices for IM/IT solutions.

EXPERIENCE

CLOUD SERVICES
AEX1: Experience managing Cloud Infrastructure (ex. Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, etc.).

AEX2: Experience in deploying, operating and maintaining infrastructure security solutions and services related to network and perimeter security. (ex. network zoning and segmentation, next-generation or web application firewalls).

SERVICE MANAGEMENT
AEX3: Experience with administering a physical and/or virtual test lab for software testing including coordinating with clients.

AEX4: Experience with administering requests for software including liaising with clients and the team(s) responsible for software procurement.

AEX5: Experience with utilizing an ITSM tool such as HP Service Manager or BMC Remedy to provide Incident Management and/or Change Management services.

SERVICE DESK / SUPPORT
AEX6: Experience in the installation, configuration, support and administration of Windows operating systems, commercial off-the-shelf products (M365, Exchange online, OneDrive, MS Teams, Microsoft Office), computer hardware and peripherals

AEX7: Experience in providing second level IT technical support to clients, in person, and over the phone using remote technologies such as Bomgar and Teams, utilizing current troubleshooting methodologies and tools for diagnosing, tracking and resolving problems in a large-scale computing environment.

Degree equivalency

CERTIFICATION
AC1 : Cloud certification (Azure, OCI, AWS, etc.).

AC2 : ITIL Foundation Certification.

KNOWLEDGE
AK1 : Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure Solutions (Azure, OCI, AWS, etc.).
AK2 : Knowledge of Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) and Process Designing.
AK3 : Knowledge of Information Library Technology Infrastructure (ITIL).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
