The technical inspector recruitment and developmental program (TI-RDP) is a unique program, developed and delivered by Measurement Canada.
Throughout this program, inspectors are mentored by senior inspectors and experts, provided with classroom, on-the-job and on-line training, and given real time experience conducting examinations (inspections), calibrating equipment, handling complaints and working with stakeholders. To qualify for a promotion, the participant must demonstrate that they meet the essential qualifications of the position, which include knowledge and competencies referenced in the statement of merit criteria for the position.
Trainees will be on probation for the duration of the development program and may be released at any time for failure to meet program expectations and demonstrate the required technical/behavioural competencies. Successful completion of all TI-RDP components will be a condition of employment for all participants upon acceptance of a senior inspector position.
