• Sorts and processes incoming, inter-office and out-going mail.
• Picks-up and delivers mail in the AAFC National Headquarters Complex.
• Operates mail meter machine, mail shipping systems and other mail equipment.
• Performs data entry into various systems and software.
• Provides information and advice to clients on mail and courier delivery.
• Drives the AAFC vehicle for the delivery of classified ministerial correspondence from AAFC’s National Headquarters Complex and other federal buildings.
• Sorts, clarifies priorities, respect standards and determines urgency.
• Ensures the proper maintenance of AAFC's vehicle.

Education:

EDUCATION:
• Secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience using various computer software (which could include Microsoft 365), for activities such as data entry, data manipulation and/or data retrieval.
• Experience working in a mailroom environment.
• Experience in responding to information enquiries related to the processing of mail.
• Experience in the handling of classified materials or sensitive documents.
EXPERIENCE:
• Experience using a postage machine, folder/inserter machine, courier shipping and tracking systems such as those by Pitney Bowes and Quadient.
• Experience in the safe and proper use of a mechanical fork lift used to move skids of bulk material.
• Experience in using SharePoint (version 2019 or more recent) for file management and collaboration.
• Experience in providing messenger services to senior officials.
• Experience in the safe and proper use of a corporate vehicle to perform duties.
• Experience in the care and maintenance of motor-vehicles.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to operate a vehicle in a safe, reliable and professional manner and willingness to drive in various weather conditions.

Secret security clearance
• Ability and willingness to stand and walk for long periods as well as lift and carry items weighing up to 30kg.
• Ability and willingness to work on site full time from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have the ability and willingness to drive a car.
• Ability and willingness to operate fork-lift and packaging equipment.

ASSESSEMENT INFORMATION
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. - Level/degree of one or more competencies/qualifications.
A test may be administered.
An interview may be administered.
