Duties

Role:
The Financial analyst administers the District operational budgets for all business lines. Provides financial analysis and management, budget administration and expenditure authorization, extracts, analyses, validates and compiles financial Information and monitors all financial activities for the RCMP J Division Northeast District.

Key activities:
Administers, plans and controls District Budgets, preparation and Input to internal and external financial reports, accounting operations including invoicing and accounts payable/receivables, reconciliation, maintenance of contingency funds, financial operations and policy.
Approval and processing of all financial invoicing Including but not limited to expense claims, purchase of equipment, fleet, office supplies, Journal Vouchers and budget transfers.
Verifies, enters and modifies financial data utilizing TEAM/SAP and other tracking systems to track and produce reports on Expenditures.
Conducts research and provides analysis on current and historical expenditures and prepares forecasts, reports, guidance and recommendations to Internal and external stakeholders and contracting partners and maintains up to date financial and business information.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/or permanent positions,(including acting appointments and deployments) .

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a financial environment, which must include at least one of the following: (a) accounting operations (e.g. accounts payable); (b) financial planning, budgeting, forecasting; (c) financial analysis and reporting.

Recent and significant experience* in delivering services to clients involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification on administrative and/or financial matters.

Recent experience in gathering, compiling and summarizing relevant information and data from internal and/or external sources.

Significant* and recent* experience in the use of spreadsheets and word processing software.

NOTE:
*“Recent” means within the last 2 years.
*”Significant” means the performance of the duties for 2 years or more.

Reliability Status security clearance - of the RCMP.
