The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is looking for talented and skilled individuals to join our dynamic team. Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.

Our team is currently working under a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to report to the workplace 3 days per week. Virtual employment will not be considered.

Intent of the process

A pool of candidates will be established and will be used to staff similar positions within the Occupational Health and Safety Services section at the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized school of medicine.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility for a license to practice medicine in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE
Extensive* experience as a medical practitioner.
Experience in the area of occupational health (including disability case management) and preventative medicine.

*Extensive experience is defined as the depth and breadth of professional experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of at least five (5) years.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.

3- Specific details of tasks or projects demonstrating how the experience was acquired (Situation/Challenge, Tasks, Action and Result).

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
