Duties

The selected candidates will need to do shift work (24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year) and will need to be able to work overtime and on short notice, as needed to meet operational requirements.

Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff positions on a term and indeterminate basis, with linguistic profiles BBB/BBB and an RCMP Top Secret Security Clearance.

The intent of the process is to establish a pool of qualified applicants for the training program.

Candidates who are qualified at the TCO-01 (trainee) level and who are selected for the Telecommunications Operator Training Program will be appointed determinately (term) or indeterminately (permanent) at the TCO-01 group and level.

Only the TCO-01 (trainee) who successfully complete the training program* will be placed in a pool of qualified TCO-02 which may be used to appoint determinately (term) or indeterminately (permanent) at the TCO-02 group and level.

*Upon initial appointment as a Telecommunications Operator Trainee, continued employment is conditional upon successful completion of classroom training, field coaching, simulation exams and proficiency evaluations for call-taking and dispatching.

Preference
