Assessment accommodation

Duties

The position coordinates and manages the daily operation and function of one of three car pools with operational and support police vehicles located within the National Capital Region (NCR). Ensures that vehicles are in a constant state of readiness for policing operations. This includes working outdoors in all weather conditions to move vehicles for snow removal, cleaning off vehicles, and assisting in readying vehicles for motorcades.

***Please note that due to the nature of the work, the positions are not subject to teleworking.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 2 positions on an indeterminate basis, with a linguistic profile of Bilingual Imperative BBB and a Top Secret security clearance.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.
The employer-approved alternatives to two years of secondary school are:
A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to two years of secondary school; or
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing service to clients in writing, via telephone or in person.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word in an office environment.

ABILITIES

Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.

Experience working as a vehicle lot attendant or in fleet management
Experience in performing logistical support functions

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally.
Willingness and ability to work overtime on occasion.
Willingness and ability to work outside in all weather conditions doing physical tasks such as cleaning snow and ice off of vehicles, and moving vehicles to different locations for snow removal operations.

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
