Scholarship of $25,000/year divided into 3 equal installments each year.

Who can apply: Persons residing in Canada, and Canadian citizens and Permanent residents abroad.
Students enrolled or able to enroll in a PhD program at the Department of Geology and Geological Engineering, Université Laval. (Proof will be required before the start date).

To be considered for RAP opportunities, students must be:
1. Students must always be registered as a full-time student at an accredited academic institution. This includes students with a visible or invisible disability deemed to have full-time status by their academic institution and those participating in adult education and retraining programs at the secondary level;
2. Be returning to full-time studies in the next academic term; and,

Duties

The GEM-GeoNorth program Western Hudson Bay project has an opportunity to conduct research in geology. The project has need of a student to conduct Doctor of Philosophy tectonothermal research into the geologic evolution of Tehery Lake-Wager Bay area, Nunavut.

Essential Education:
Must have successfully completed a MSc degree at a recognized Canadian University.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
At least 3 years of remote or northern bedrock field study via either co-leading field work and science research by geoscience surveys or as a senior geological assistant.
Experience in phase equilibria modelling and U-Th-Pb geochronology.
