Duties

📌 Indigenous Services Canada (ISC), First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB), Ontario Region is looking to recruit Education Practice Advisors to support the delivery of high quality, evidence-based, and culturally appropriate health care services. Duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
→ Conduct monitoring activities (e.g. chart audits), verify compliance with standards, assess/evaluate progress and prepare reports.
→ Participate in the identification of training needs for nurses and provide recommendations on the selection of training activities.
→ Participate with orientating new hires to community based programs and to working in primary care in First Nations Communities.
→ Provide professional support and guidance to nursing professionals and to community-based staff relative to the delivery of primary care services to First Nations.
→ Deliver training activities through various modalities: in classroom, virtual and in community.

The position is full-time and requires the candidate to split their time between an assigned isolated and remote First Nation community and off-site (designated satellite office or telework). The incumbent may be eligible for overtime and/or rates as per the Travel Directive (National Joint Council).

Intent of the process

📌 The immediate intent of this poster is to staff two (2) indeterminate positions and requires the candidate to split their time between an assigned isolated and remote First Nation community and off-site (designated satellite office or telework).

The results of this process may be used to staff same or similar English Essential positions with various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) and various security clearance levels within Indigenous Services Canada.

→ 4. Public Health Care.

Recent* is defined as within the last six years
Significant** is defined as at least three years’ experience with the candidate performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.

✔ EXP 2 - Recent* and Significant** experience providing health care services as a licensed Registered Nurse in remote Indigenous communities in the following areas:

→ 1. Primary Care; and / or
→ 2. Acute Care or Urgent Care or Emergency Care, and / or
