The CSC is hiring licenced Occupational Therapists (OT).
As an OT within our agency, you will work as an autonomous health provider in a dynamic, evidence-based multidisciplinary practice offering essential health services (assessment, intervention, and treatment) to a diverse client profile.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
Our Mission
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
CSC will review applications received weekly and contact applicants selected for further assessment based on the needs of the region or institutions. It is therefore important for candidates to indicate all the locations at which they are interested in working.
The candidate qualified pool resulting from this selection process may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate (anticipatory), term, or casual basis.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Eligibility for practice as an Occupational Therapist with the provincial registering/licensing body in the province of practice.
(Note: Eligibility for the above must be met upon appointment but not at point of application. Applicants should be in their final year of study or have completed the required education)

Experience in providing occupational therapy services through workplace and/or practicum placements.

EXPERIENCE
Experience working in a correctional environment.
Experience providing Occupational Therapy services to clients with psychiatric/mental health disorders.
Experience providing Occupational Therapy services to clients with physical, medical and/or cognitive conditions & deficits. These may include but are not limited to geriatric clients, brain injuries, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and behaviourally challenged clients.

Reliability Status security clearance
Proof of Registration and the continued registration with the College of Occupational Therapists in the Province of practice.
