We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE READING THE FOLLOWING TO ENSURE THE EFFICIENCY OF THE PROCESS:
The intent of this inventory is to staff technical and specialized positions in the area of construction and maintenance of the Correctional Service of Canada's real property portfolio. No applications will be considered for interest and qualification at any other group and level not stated above. Please read carefully the groups and levels for which the needs are stated. No administrative positions (AS or CR) will be filled from this process.
WHAT ARE THE GROUPS AND LEVELS MEANING? To help you find your way through the different job opportunities, here is what the different groups mean:
AR: Field of Architecture
EN-ENG: Field of Engineering
EG: Engineering and Scientific Support
EL: Field of Electronics
GL: General Labour and Trades
HP: Heating, Power and Stationary Plant Operations
PC: Environmental Sciences
HOW TO KNOW IF I AM QUALIFIED IN A POOL? When you participate in a process, you are invited to one or more assessments depending on the process. At the end of this (or these) assessment(s), you receive an email clearly indicating that you have qualified or partially qualified. If your application is retained in the system, it does not mean that you have qualified for the process.
The Technical Services and Facilities Branch of Correctional Service of Canada is trying a new approach to hire qualified candidates. If you have fully or partially qualified* in a pool, then this opportunity is for you. We are looking to create a repository of fully or partially qualified candidates who would be interested in joining our dynamic community.
What makes this repository different from other job advertisements? Applying once means you can be considered for many job opportunities. If your application is not selected for one job, your application remains in the repository and could be selected again for other job opportunities that come up while the repository remains open. As an applicant, you can also go back and update your resume at any time and change your application.
The Technical Services and Facilities of Correctional Service of Canada is a stimulating and dynamic environment where the mission is to ensure the planning, designing, operation, maintenance, compliance and sustainability of a real estate portfolio in an operational environment. We are responsible for institutions and penitentiary clusters as well as parole offices and community correctional centers located throughout Canada. The facilities we manage are diverse such as buildings and structures, building mechanics systems, electrical distribution networks, infrastructures, generators, oil tanks, thermal power stations, water treatment and purification plants, roads, fences and barriers, and automobile fleets to name only those.

The intent of this process is to create and maintain a repository of candidates who are already at level or who have been fully or partially* qualified in Government of Canada selection processes. We will accept candidates from across Canada at various groups and levels into the repository.
When applying to this inventory, your application is not for a specific job, but to a inventory for future vacancies within the Correctional Service of Canada. As part of this repository, your file may be referred to hiring managers; however, it does not necessarily mean that a job offer will be made.
Please note that we will be considering candidates at level and those who have fully or partially* qualified and are part of a pool created in April 2021 or after. Furthermore, this repository does NOT include inventories for which you have not been assessed.
The creation of this inventory is not position-specific. A specific position may require an additional qualification that may not have been assessed by the selection process. The hiring manager may require further assessment, which he/she will conduct.
*Partially qualified means that second official language may still require assessment and/or proof of education still needs to be provided.
