POSITION LOCATION / WORK ARRANGEMENT:
This position is located in Ottawa. However, the successful candidate may report to the Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto office for in-office work.
Due to the nature of the work and operational requirements, this position requires physical presence (in-office work) from one of the following OSFI offices across Canada: Ottawa, Montreal or Toronto. The option of teleworking is available on a part-time basis in accordance with OSFI’s Guidelines on Telework. Teleworking arrangements are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the nature of the work required by the position, the operational and business needs, as well as the candidate’s work preferences.

The position is responsible for a variety of research, analysis, systems management, and support functions, such as:
- Researching, analyzing and managing non-complex legislation and compliance requests involving the review of relevant statutes, regulations, case law, policies, and past practice, under the supervision of a senior member of the team, on a variety of issues affecting the Canadian financial sector, including federally regulated financial institutions.
- Managing and administering the team’s data management systems, including data bases, email boxes, workflow systems, and team related areas on OSFI's website.
- Monitoring and reporting to the team on current and proposed legislation and policies, in Canada and internationally, that may impact the Canadian financial sector including federally regulated financial institutions.
- Participating in the preparation and public release of team rulings, advisories, compliance instructions and other documents such as material for presentations by OSFI to the public and industry.
- Participating in the development, maintenance, and organization of training materials, including e-learning modules, presentations, summaries and other training methods. Assist with the organization of training sessions and related matters.
- Ensuring data management and integrity, and developing options to improve systems and match business needs with IT solutions.
- Acting as liaison between the team and internal and external stakeholders, including IT, Corporate Services and other groups relying on the team’s data and systems, and with counterparts in the Department of Finance, or other government agencies with respect to the position’s key activities.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- A degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution with specialization in law or legal studies, public affairs, public administration, government policy, legislation and regulations, or another relevant field that includes Canadian courses in law or legal studies, legislation, and regulations.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Recent* experience in the following areas:
- Reviewing, researching, analyzing and writing reports on non-complex requests in relation to statutes, regulations, case law and public policy.
- Carrying out research involving databases, internet, corporate registries and other internal/external data management systems and information tools.
- Working with software tools such as Excel and/or PowerPoint.

- Knowledge of legislation, guidelines and public policy related to federally regulated financial institutions, including the Bank Act, Trust and Loan Companies Act and Insurance Companies Act.
