You like teamwork and are you interested in food services? We are looking for kitchen helpers on a casual basis to work on the preparation, distribution and service of meals for inmates in the various institutions of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) in the Quebec region. The working days are variable, on day shifts.

You are contacted for an interview. This interview will be to explain the job, work environment, and may be used to confirm/address any of the qualifications listed below. This will also be your opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the work.
Step 4:
If you are selected, you will be contacted to complete the Security screening. Once completed, a letter of offer will be provided.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resourceful, able to maintain excellent interpersonal relationships and who enjoys daily challenges. The main tasks related to the position are:
Provision of assistance in the preparation, distribution and service of meals and preparation and distribution of groceries to offenders in an institution of the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC).
Training of offenders in the area of Food Services to improve their employability skills and behaviours
Institutional kitchen in a carceral environment.
This process is for casual employment. We have an immediate need to staff "Cook’s helper" positions. Successful applicants can expect to start working as soon as all conditions are met.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Recent experience working in food services within a commercial or institutional setting.
Experience in the preparation and distribution of short order cooking.

EDUCATION:
Successful completion of a secondary school diploma.
Possession of a valid recognized Safe Food Handling Program certification.
Professional Culinary Art diploma.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience working with cash register or Point of sale system.
Experience working in a correctional environment (institutional or community office).
Reliability and Security: Reliability status.
Willingness to work overtime on short notice.
Willingness to work shift work (evening, weekends, statutory holidays).
Willingness to work with federally incarcerated offenders.
