Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one (1) indeterminate position.

A pool of (fully or partially qualified) candidates may be established through this process to staff with identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures, various language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential, or Bilingual), linguistic requirements (imperative and/or non-imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC, etc.), various security requirements (Reliability status or Secret clearance), various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education:
- A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience in providing advice, guidance and administrative support related to occupational health and safety.

Information on language requirements

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II and its regulations.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Management Framework.

Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively orally.

- Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.

Personal Suitability:
- Showing initiative and being action-oriented
- Thinking things through

Asset Qualifications:
- Experience working in a scientific and/or laboratory environment.
- Experience delivering training sessions.
- Experience in investigating, reporting and monitoring work place accidents or incidents.
