Important messages

We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.

Assessment accommodation

When submitting your application, you must answer questions regarding the education and experience requirements (both essential and asset qualifications). You must clearly demonstrate how you meet each of these requirements by answering the online questions. It is not sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to only provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate when (month-year to month-year), where and how you acquired each qualification by giving concrete examples. Information provided in your answers related to your education and experience must be supported in your resume. Failure to provide the above information in the format required may result in your application being rejected from the process. The information you provide in the questionnaire must be true.

Work environment

Elections Canada offers a hybrid work model which permits telework in most situations. However, as of March 27, 2023, employees are expected to work onsite at least 2 days per week (or a minimum of 40% of their working schedule). This includes one fixed day onsite for all employees of the same team and one flexible day (i.e. not fixed) at an onsite location. Work arrangements outside of this model will be considered on an exceptional basis only.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff IT-02 positions with varying tenures (such as indeterminate, specified period, acting) and various linguistic profiles (BBB/BBB, CCB/CCB, CBC/CBC or CCC/CCC, English or French Essential).
