Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.

The RCMP “E” Division Headquarters is located in beautiful Surrey, B.C. at 14200 Green Timbers Way. We are situated near the heart of downtown Surrey, near Skytrain and transit. This large headquarters houses several of the integrated operations, senior management and corporate services to support the priorities of the RCMP in British Columbia and the Yukon. “E” Division RCMP provides federal and provincial services throughout the province and policing to all but 12 municipalities. Positions are in the Real Property section of Corporate Management Branch, which includes asset solutions and property management services for the entire portfolio of RCMP buildings and properties in the Pacific Region; ensuring the buildings and properties are provided with utilities, services, timely maintenance, renovations, and repairs. The Section is also responsible for major capital projects such as the construction of new detachments, training facilities and leasing contracts. Person(s) may be able to work Telework up to 2 days per week, upon approval of the manager.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 3 permanent and temporary vacancies.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future permanent or temporary vacancies (including terms, actings, casuals, assignments and secondments) in similar-level positions (at full or part-time hours, including shift-work). Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of one year and may be extended.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Alternative to education is defined as:
Education = 2 years of secondary school.
Training = Business administration and or Property Management Training such as or similar to BOMA or CSPS Real Property or Facility/Property Management certificate or higher.
Experience = 1 year experience working in a position similar to the one being staffed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
• Experience in portfolio management involving projects related to Real Property
• Experience in gathering information, analyzing options and identifying solutions
• Experience working in a client service focused environment
• Experience with monitoring and tracking project financials

• Successful completion of a professional program in the Real Property field, such as: Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or Applied Science Technologist (AscT), Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Property Administrator (RPA), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM).

Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
