The Public Health Agency of Canada will periodically pull and review the applications received and contact applicants selected for further assessment based on the needs.

Duties

We are looking for someone who is dynamic, resourceful, positive and an excellent leader who likes to face challenges every day. This person will be part of a supervisory team and lead a team that receives, stores and ships, a federally owned stockpile that contains a supply of life-saving drugs, medical supplies and medical equipment. Work environment

We currently operate multiple facilities in the NCR. Please note that you may be required to work in various locations on a rotating schedule.

Intent of the process

The intent is to create a pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff temporary or indeterminate opportunities within the Public Health Agency of Canada. This could include casual or term (specified period) appointments. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
• A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
E1: Experience inputting and processing data in warehouse specific electronic databases, such as: SAP or SAGE or other.
E2: Experience with various computer software programs, such as: Word, Excel and Outlook.
E3: Experience working in a warehouse environment that utilizes Good Manufacturing Process or ISO standards, or equivalent.
E4: Experience in supervising, coordinating, and assigning work to a warehouse team (2-10 people).
E5: Experience with inventory control; receiving, shipping, and storing low to high value assets.

Asset Knowledge:
AK1: Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards for warehouse setting
AK2: Knowledge of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act
AK3: Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
AK4: Knowledge of material management warehouse methods (Stores; Shipping & Receiving; Warehousing, and shipping methods)

Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
• Willing and able to travel when required
• Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
• Willing and able to work within varying climates. Even with climate controls, temperatures in some parts of our warehouses may vary between 15°C / 60°F and 32°C / 90°F. When working in the truck yard or inside of a trailer on the dock during a hot day, the temperature can exceed 32°C / 90°F

Conditions of employment

Security Level: Secret clearance

Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 60 lbs.

Obtain and maintain Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Forklift certification

Will be required to perform a variety of physical tasks, including but not limited to, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, and sitting
