📣 The intent of this selection process is to staff one bilingual position located in Dartmouth (NS) on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of prequalified candidates will be established to staff similar positions at Fisheries and Oceans Canada with various linguistic profiles, various tenures (indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, secondment, or assignment), and for various conditions of employment.

🎓 Education
▫️ Graduation from a recognized university with a master's degree in library science or in library and information science.
✔️ Experience
▫️ Recent experience* providing research or reference services in a library.
▫️ Recent experience* conducting searches using commercial online bibliographic databases, print sources and the Internet to respond to client requests in a library environment.
*Recent is defined as experience normally associated with full time performance of the duties for at least 3 months within the last two (2) years.
⚡️ Asset Experience
▫️ Experience writing library instructional materials using LibGuides.
▫️ Experience delivering library orientation and training sessions.
▫️ Experience providing library reference services in a fisheries and oceans related work environment.
▫️ Experience using the Sierra integrated library system (ILS) to deliver library services.
▫️ Experience using the Summon discovery tool to deliver library services.
▫️ Experience selecting and evaluating print and electronic library information resources.
▫️ Experience delivering library reference services via chat.
▫️ Experience providing research or reference services in a specialized (corporate or government) library or in an academic library.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)

⚙️ Operational Requirements
