This MSc position will support on-going research at the Geological Survey of Canada to better understand element mobility pathways in mineralized and unmineralized metamorphic rocks. The MSc project will involve targeted fieldwork north of Rankin Inlet (Nunavut, summer 2023), combined with the application of modern geochemical and petrographic techniques, and integrated with state-of-the-art microscopy, to investigate tectonic structures associated with amalgamation of the Rae and Hearne cratons, and their relationship to ore genesis in the region.
