Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff a position on a temporary basis in Grande Cache, Alberta, and create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
- Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

*Candidates invited to an interview will be required to bring proof of their education credentials, in the form of a diploma or official transcript.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data.
- Experience in the provision of at least 3 administrative support services such as: data entry, ordering office supplies, processing mail, preparing correspondence, transcription.
- Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
- Experience in using computer applications including three of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets or word processing.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience providing administrative support services in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
- Experience providing financial support services (services may include, but are not limited to, verifying and correcting financial claims, controlling and monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.).

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
- Willing and able to work overtime, as required.
- Willing and able to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport).

Conditions of employment

RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels: RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, and a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
