- Prepare, plant, maintain and harvest cereal, pulse and oilseed test plots in field and/or greenhouse research trials.
- Operate and transport a variety of field equipment including: 50 -100 HP tractors, mowers, cultivators, sprayers, grain cleaners, and small plot seeders and combines.
- Participate in controlled environmental studies and field plot experiments to assess agronomic data such as heights, yield, test weight, thousand kernel counts and disease ratings.
- Collect, process and ship plant and grain samples to various research institutions in Western Canada.

The intent is to staff two permanent seasonal (7 months out of the year) positions immediately.
A pool of qualified and partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures as well as various linguistic requirements.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience operating agricultural/farm equipment
Experience working with crops including cereals, pulses and oilseeds
Experience in cleaning, adjusting and making minor repairs to a variety of tools and
equipment (such as adjusting a mower, cleaning a combine, or changing a tire)
ASSET EDUCATION:
Secondary school (high school) diploma or an employer-approved alternative.

Possession of a valid class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license or provincial/ territorial
equivalent.
Ability and willingness to obtain a pesticide applicator license
Ability and willingness to work overtime including evenings and weekends.
Ability and willingness to work under variable weather conditions.
Ability and willingness to perform physical demanding work including moderate to heavy
manual labour requiring bending and lifting heavy objects (up to 20kg).
Ability and willingness to work in harsh environments (outdoors, cold, hot, dust, and
noise).
Ability and willingness to control allergies, through the use of personal protective
equipment and/or medication and this must not impinge upon the duties to be
performed.
Ability and willing to work in a laboratory, greenhouse and/or field environments.

You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
