EDUCATION:
The minimum standard for positions classified as Elementary and Secondary Teaching
(ED-EST) is either Education or Occupational Certification.
When education is required, the minimum standard is:
ED1 - Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, sociology, psychology, mathematics, physics, home economics or some other specialty relevant to the positions in the classification.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
OCT1 - Possession of an acceptable teaching certificate from a province or territory of Canada
EXPERIENCE:
EX1 - Five years of successful classroom teaching experience in elementary or secondary
education
EX2 - Experience working effectively with First Nations or Inuit or Métis communities

EXPERIENCE:
AEX1 - Experience in education administration related to school organization
AEX2 - Experience in the supervision of staff
AEX3 - Experience in the management of instructional programs
AEX4 - Experience in teaching Indigenous children
AEX5 - Experience working in the Six Nations community or other First Nation community
ABILITIES AND SKILLS ASSETS:

A variety of assessment tools may be used in the assessment of candidates, such as: *written test, practical test, situational exercise, *oral interview, simulation, presentation, role play, work samples, performance appraisals, *reference checks, and/or *assessment board member personal/direct knowledge of candidates' qualifications.
