- In support to the Control Center and Major Events, the Storeperson ensures that an adequate supply of equipment is always available and if not will purchase the required equipment and ensure proper storage of all assets.
- Ensures that equipment under their care is certified for use through the use of specialized contractors for maintenance and certification.
- Ensures that transportation of said equipment is arranged or performs the transportation using a cube van or pick-up truck with trailer. Requires onsite unload and placement. Deliveries and pick-ups are done on multiple sites at once and require organizational skills.
- Ensures a clean and safe working environment.
- Ensures that the shipping and receiving of equipment is done following the procedures, using computer-based software to prepare lists, checks in and out equipment.
- May be called upon to perform basic maintenance task, including painting and light carpentry work. For maintenance beyond basics, contractors will be required and arranged.
- And other related duties.
♦ The intent of this process is to imminently staff a Storeperson position within the Production Services on a temporary basis. Depending on future needs, the position could eventually be filled on an indeterminate basis.
♦ A list of partially or fully qualified candidates could be created and could be used to fill identical or similar positions.
♦ All options and tenures can be considered (indeterminate, term, acting, deployment, assignment and secondment) within the Department of Canadian Heritage.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma from a recognized institution OR employer approved alternative.
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; Or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
EXP1: Experience working in a warehouse.
EXP2: Experience in the preparation, delivery and pick up of equipment at multiple locations.
EXP3: Experience scheduling yearly tasks relating to maintenance of different types of equipment.

- Knowledge of WHIMIS 2015 Hazardous Material Information System
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and safety, Canada Labor Code Part-2.

EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in special events in a logistical capacity.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold or be able to obtain a valid Working at Heights certificate for Ontario.
- Hold or be able to obtain a valid forklift, Zoom Boom, low lift and propane handling certificates.
- Hold or be able to obtain a valid 1st aid certification.
- Mandatory use of Safety Equipment.
- Must Wear Personal Protective Equipment (e.g., steel toe shoes, gloves, goggles).
Reliability Status security clearance
- Hold a valid unrestricted, non-probationary, non-graduated driver’s license with good abstract.
- Work in an office, warehouse and outdoor sites. Work can be for long hours of time including in harsh climactic conditions.
- Consent to work overtime, irregular hours and frequently work on weekends and statuary holidays.
- Able to lift-up to 25kg.
