Court Administration Services (CAS) is committed to creating a modern and innovative platform and technology to meet the changing needs of our Courts and CAS.

Being responsible for building up this new capacity with the endorsement of the CIO, the Manager, Automation Services will be responsible for creating a program dedicated to both low code / no code and automation services centres of expertise for all of CAS and the Courts to meet the high demand of creating an electronic judicial presence.

Intent of the process

A pool of pre-qualified or fully qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various tenure, various bilingual linguistic profiles and security requirements within the Courts Administration Service.

Candidates may be evaluated further, for specific opportunities, on qualifications (including conditions of employment and operational requirements) that are deemed necessary, whether or not these qualifications have been listed on the job advertisement.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution from a program in computer systems technology, computer systems technician, computer science, information technology, information management, or other relevant specialty program.

Degree equivalency

Recent* experience in providing IM/IT advice and guidance to management.

Recent* experience supervising a team.

Recent* and significant** experience managing security services such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection, Security. Information and Event Management (SIEM), Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware, Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment, or other related Cyber/IT security services.

Experience working in IT security.

*Recent is defined as being performed and acquired within the last year.
**Significant is defined as being performed for a period of at least 2 years as part of your regular duties.

Successful completion of one or more occupational certifications in the field of Information Security.
Pertinent certification include:
- Completion of CSE IT Security courses or in possession of CSE IT Security certifications;
- SANS / GIAC certifications;
- Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP);
- Any other professional certification held with good standing that is relevant to this position.

Experience working with Government of Canada classified systems.

Experience in developing security key performance indicators and reporting dashboards.

Experience with Cloud Security.

Experience with IT vulnerability management including performing vulnerability assessments and providing advice and guidance regarding vulnerability remediation.

Experience leading IT Security investigations.

Experience with Check Point products.

Experience drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documents, instruction manuals, policies or documents pertaining to Cybersecurity.

Other sources of information (such as performance agreements, work samples, board member knowledge, etc.) may be used to inform the assessment of the criteria identified on the Statement of Merit Criteria. Any information that you provide throughout this process, including email correspondence, may also form part of the assessment.

Asset qualification(s) may be applied in this selection process.

Written communication may be assessed via the job application.

Candidates will be required to provide proof of their education credentials in the form of a diploma or official transcript.

If a qualified candidate has been selected and appointed on an indeterminate basis from the established pool, they will be removed from the pool. If a candidate is selected for a specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) appointment, they will remain in the pool for future offers.
