Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) position on an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Ottawa, Ontario within the Director General Defence Security (DGDS) organization. This position is in site, full time (office setting). In office presence will be required at 2200 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON, K1A 0K2.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

ED1: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in social sciences or administration

OR

Relevant degree with specialized courses in security or emergency management.

(Please note that an official transcript and diploma are required as proof).

Degree equivalency

ED2. Graduate from a polygraph school duly accredited and recognized by the American Polygraph Association or the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists at the time of graduation.

MEMBERSHIP

Current member of the American Polygraph Association, or the Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists.

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an American Polygraph Association or Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists qualified security screening polygraph examiner.

EX2: *Significant* experience in providing advice and guidance to **senior management** in support of a security program.

EX3: *Significant* experience in developing, implementing, reviewing and modifying standard operating procedures relating to elements of a polygraph program.

EX4: Experience preparing briefings and reports for **senior management**.

*Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities which could normally be acquired over a period of approximately three years.

**Senior management is defined as Director and above or equivalent.

OR1: Must be willing and able to travel

Conditions of employment

Top Secret security clearance - able to obtain Enhanced Top Secret (with valid polygraph compliant with the Standard on Security Screening – Treasury Board Secretariat)

Membership with the American Polygraph Association and/or Canadian Association of Police Polygraphists

Execution of a minimum of 25 polygraph examinations per year to maintain certification
