Working under the leadership of the Manager, IT Operations, the Team Lead, Infrastructure provides supervision and leadership to project teams, operational support and advice in the planning, implementation, integration, and maintenance of IT infrastructure. As Team Lead, you will be called upon to provide technical advice and guidance to management, colleagues and clients and act as a subject matter resource for services or the resolution of technical issues. You will also be responsible for supervising and providing leadership to infrastructure and operational support analysts to ensure their ongoing professional development.
Financial consumer protection is an integral part of the Government of Canada’s oversight of the financial sector. The Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) ensures Federally Regulated Financial Entities (FRFEs) comply with consumer protection measures, promotes financial education and raises consumers’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
FCAC is a small separate agency subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
• Recent* experience elaborating architectures designs of on premises AND cloud IT network infrastructure;
• Recent* experience maintaining AND configuring, IT security components;
• Recent* experience maintaining AND configuring IT network components;
• Recent* experience in providing advice, recommendations AND technical support to management concerning complex** IT problems; and,
• Experience in supervising and assigning tasks to IT professionals.
Definitions:
*Recent experience is defined as an experience that was attained within the last three (3) years.
** Complex projects, initiatives or activities include at least two (2) of the following characteristics: multiple phases with concurrent activities, affecting many partners or stakeholders, precedent setting, having a major impact on the organization.
• Experience working in a multi-platform environment (e.g., Linux, Windows).
• Experience in developing AND maintaining PowerShell scripts.
• Experience on various cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google, ServiceNow).
• Experience supporting remote offices.
• Certification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
