When submitting an application to this selection process, you will be prompted to answer screening questions concerning the essential education, and the essential and asset experience qualifications. It is your responsibility to provide clear and concrete examples in your responses to each question, including when (from-to), where (occupational title, organization) and how you obtained your education and experience. It is recommended that you describe the experience examples in specific terms, providing sufficient details so that the Assessment Board can clearly understand. Describe the situation/task, the action you took, what you accomplished and/or what you learned. Content of your response must be supported by your CV/resume as your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your CV/resume will only be used to validate this information. Should you indicate in your response "please refer to CV/resume" your application will be rejected. Located in Chilliwack, British Columbia, the RCMP Pacific Region Training Centre (PRTC), is the advanced in-service training academy for the RCMP in British Columbia. PRTC is responsible for the design, development and delivery of training and learning opportunities for all employees within the Division.
PRTC is owned and operated by the RCMP, with contracted hotel services through Executive Hotels & Resorts.
PRTC is located in the Sardis area, occupying 72 acres of the former Canadian Forces Base. Close to the Vedder River and Cultus Lake, Chilliwack is vibrant community rich in history and outdoor adventures.
This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers.
The anticipated intent/result of this process is to indeterminately staff (on a full time basis) two positions.
The result of this selection process will be to create a pool of qualified candidates which may be used to fill future permanent or temporary vacancies.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Successful completion of secondary school education or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Experience:
1. Recent* and significant** experience using Microsoft Word
2. Recent* and significant** experience using a spreadsheet software program such as Microsoft Excel
3. Experience entering and managing information in an electronic database.
4. Significant** experience providing administrative support services in an office environment
*Recent experience refers to the performance of duties within the last two years.
**Significant experience means depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties over a period of approximately 6 months.

Depending on the requirements of the position(s) being staffed from this process, for current or future vacancies, any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements, and organizational needs may be applied at the time of staffing. Candidates may be contacted and assessed against these criteria at any time during this process.
Interested persons must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to the position, in a manner determined by the Selection Board. A person may be appointed to the position even though he/she does not meet any or all of the asset qualifications, operational requirements or organizational needs. However, meeting these criteria is desirable and may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
Once established, the qualified pool will be valid for a period of 12 months and may be extended.
Practical and/or standardized tests may be administered for screening and/or assessment purposes.
Please note that candidates (including persons employed in the Public Service) will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and travel costs will not be reimbursed. Consequently, candidates will be responsible for travel costs.

If a qualified candidate has been selected and appointed on an indeterminate basis from the established pool, they will be removed from the pool. If a candidate is selected for a specified period (including term, acting, or assignment/secondment) appointment, they will remain in the pool for future offers.
This process and the resulting pool will only be used to staff positions in the RCMP.
Any information provided by a candidate through their application or assessment that is deemed to be incorrect or fraudulent will be eliminated from further consideration.
Experience qualifications will be assessed upon application. Further confirmation or assessment may be conducted through reference checks.
All information obtained throughout the selection process, from time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate candidates.
