Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis in Dorval (Quebec). However, a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions in Transport Canada where tenure, language requirements and security requirements may vary.

EDUCATION / OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized postsecondary institution in an engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position OR eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES
• Significant* experience in the design, development, testing, in-service support, or certification of aeronautical products.
*Significant is defined as having six (6) or more years of engineering experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry.
• Significant** engineering experience in the design, development, testing, in- service support or certification of Aircraft Structures (AWM 523/525/527/529).
**Significant is defined as having three (3) or more years of experience whilst progressively acquiring increased responsibilities related to engineering in the aerospace industry.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous delegation or qualification to become delegated as an Aircraft Certification Delegate by Transport Canada.

• Experience in providing guidance to others on the interpretation or application of regulations, standards or guidance material related to engineering activities.

• Knowledge of Canadian civil aviation airworthiness requirements and their application to aeronautical product certification.
• Knowledge of engineering principles related to aircraft structures.
• Ability to manage projects.
• Ability to lead teams.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS
