PM-03 ATIP Analyst
Is responsible for the application of Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) legislation for the processing of formal and informal ATIP requests for Library and Archives Canada (LAC), on Government of Canada (GC) archival or personnel records under the control of the LAC. This position is also responsible for the research, analysis and information services regarding LAC archival or personnel records as they relate to genealogy, family history, and military history , within the context of applying ATIP legislation to these records.
PM-04 Senior Analyst
Is responsible for the application of Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) legislation for the processing of highly complex, contentious and/or sensitive formal and informal requests under this legislation on Library and Archives Canada (LAC) operational, archival or personnel records. The provision of advice and interpretation of ATIP legislation, regulations, and related Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) policy instruments for LAC staff. This position is also responsible for the research, analysis and information services regarding LAC operational, archival or personnel records as they relate to genealogy, family history, and military history, within t he context of applying ATIP legislation to these records.
Library and Archives Canada is a medium-sized organization totaling approximately 900 employees. In early 2022, the Office of the Information Commissioner released a report recommending that LAC examine our processes and ensure funding is in place to support the Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) Office. As a result, LAC is undertaking a major staffing initiative with the goal of modernizing our processes and reducing our backlog by resolving specific challenges unique to our organization. To do that, we need YOU!
LAC is the official home of the archival record of the Government of Canada (GC) and its institutions, of the personnel records of former Canadian Armed Forces Members and former Public Servants, and private archival donations of records from individuals and organizations of national significance. Given the importance of these records we are often called upon to contribute to various projects of political and public impact. Recent examples include supporting the GC response to the LGBT Purge class action, providing records to claimants for the Federal Indian Day Schools class action, and providing records to supporting land claims.

The intent of this process is to staff approximately 40 positions. Some of the appointments could be on a term basis for a period up-to two years, but the process may also be used to staff indeterminate positions.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions within Library and Archives Canada across Canada with various tenures, language requirements, operational requirements and/or conditions of employment, which may vary according to the position to be staffed.
If a pool is established following this staffing process, all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) will be able to use it in order to staff similar positions across Canada.

ASSET EXPERIENCE FOR PM-03 AND PM-04 POSITIONS:
- Experience in analyzing, interpreting and applying the Access to Information Act and Privacy Act, their provincial equivalents or equivalents in other nations.
- Experience working in an information management environment or a cultural environment such as museums, libraries and/or archives.
- Experience working with ATIP software or case management systems.
- Experience in analyzing, researching and/or reviewing information found in records.
- Experience responding to ATIP requests.

If you do not clearly demonstrate in the questionnaire how you meet the essential education and experience requirements, your application may be rejected.
