As a member of our team, you will be working with the RCMP operational and administrative records. Managing information, maintaining data quality and processing mail will be your responsibility. You will sequester information when it’s non-disclosable and make it available for disclosure when applicable. You will have the opportunity to support internal clients in RCMP Detachments by providing specialized advice and guidance. Yellowknife is classified as an Isolated Post. As such, the successful candidate must meet all the conditions under the Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive prior to appointment. Important financial information:
• Successful candidates from outside the federal public service will get up to $5,000 in relocation expenses. Additional expenses for relocation will have to be paid by the candidate.
• Successful candidates may be eligible for staff housing.
• Isolated Post Allowances (Northern Allowance) for Yellowknife ranges from approximately $12,383 to $24,387 which is based on if the employee has dependents.
• Vacation Travel Assistance is provided once a year for Yellowknife of approximately $1,067 for each eligible member of the household.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position in Yellowknife, NT.

A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
• Experience providing advice and guidance to clients.
• Experience researching and correlating information using multiple sources of information.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and the Criminal Records Act
• Experience working with the provisions of the Privacy Act and the Access to Information Act.
• Recent and extensive experience** using the Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS) with End User Certification and PROS IM Certification.
*Recent experience signifies having performed these duties within the last two years.
*Extensive experience signifies having actively performed these duties for at least two years.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willingness and ability to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and /or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Willingness and ability to maintain a valid driver's license, or have personal mobility to the degree normally associated with a driver's license.
• Willingness and ability to travel, sometimes overnight, for work and/or training purposes, using various modes of transportation.
• Willingness and ability to lift and carry boxes or equipment weighing up to 23kg.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
