Duties

The key activities of this role include, but are not limited to:
• conducts background research and collects information on various human resources management trends, initiatives, issues, preliminary analyses, reports, and components of briefings or presentations;
• reviews, researches and processes human resources management action requests or assigned files in accordance with human resources management policies, directives, guidelines and procedures, and reports any findings of significance;
• interacts with clients, project teams, colleagues and supervisor to exchange information, discuss and confirm requirements;
• provides input and recommendations for changes to human resources management procedures and generates statistics and reports;
• develops awareness of public service and departmental/agency human resources management objectives, priorities and operating context through professional development activities and work assignments.

Our team is located at 73 Leikin Drive in Ottawa, Ontario (Barrhaven), in a modern building with plenty of free parking, convenient access to bus routes immediately outside of the building, free use of a gym, and a cafeteria onsite.

Our team is currently working under a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate will be required to report to the workplace 3 days per week. Virtual employment will not be considered.

Intent of the process

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is committed to the recruitment, development, and retention of Human Resources (HR) professionals that will provide high quality service and advice to management. The PE Development Program (PEDP) is established to ensure sufficient and sustainable capacity within Human Resources in order to help the Department deliver on its mandate.

The PEDP is designed to facilitate the development of talented individuals who have the potential to excel as HR professionals. The program is an integrated, competency-based career development framework, designed to hire participants at the junior level and, after fulfilling training and development requirements, appoint them to the working level.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
