Furniture Specialist
This position is required to fulfill the role of Furniture Specialist with the Accommodation Management and Workplace Solutions (AMWS) team within the NCA. The Furniture Specialist is mainly responsible for coordinating between the various stakeholders (private and public) in order to procure furniture for the Government of Canada projects. They are also responsible for collecting information required for the preparation of furniture procurement packages and are the key contact for all procurement needs and inquiries.

Accommodation Management and Workplace Solutions (PSPC, RPS) is a dynamic team focused on innovative workplace solutions for the Government of Canada. Our various teams are seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions: Furniture Specialist
Our mission is to create, promote and develop the office space of the future that embraces innovation, transformation and continuous renewal. We are focused on the GCworkplace fit-up standards which promotes flexibility, agility and well-being. We provide professional interior design and furniture services, including concept development, design advisory and quality assurance to all government departments.
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada across Canada with various language requirements, security requirements and/or tenures.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a university degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in Interior Design or Industrial Design or Environment Design or Architecture or Graduation with diploma in Interior Design or Architectural technology from a recognized college, or *an acceptable combination of education and experience.
*𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 of “an acceptable combination of education and experience”: A candidate who does not meet the minimum of education required must have at least 5 years of experience in providing office accommodation interior design services or providing office furniture manufacturing / specification services and have a high school diploma.
EXPERIENCE
𝐅𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
E1. *Significant and **recent experience in working with a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of office accommodation projects.
E2. *Significant and **recent experience* in providing professional furniture selection/specifications and procurement services for office fit up and/or accommodation projects.
E3. **Recent experience* in providing strategic advice and project delivery strategy recommendations related to Furniture.
* 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 experience is defined as performing the identified duties over a period of approximately 5 years.
**𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 experience is defined as having approximately five (5) years of experience within the last ten (10) years.
