Intent of the process

Accounting Operations has an immediate need to staff 4 FI-02 positions. Please note that this position is located in Fredericton (NB) or Halifax (NS) and will require a physical presence at the office on a regular basis. This selection process will also serve to establish a list of qualified candidates that may be used in the future to staff similar positions on a permanent or temporary basis (term, acting, assignment, secondment).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group

OR

Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified General Accountant (CGA).

*Note : The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing financial advice and guidance to managers
Experience in analyzing and challenging financial data and reporting
Experience using financial management system and reporting tools i.e. Oracle or SAP.
Experience in researching, writing briefing materials, presentations and reports for managers.
Experience in at least 1 of the following functions; Financial management advisory, corporate/cost/capital asset accounting, internal controls, financial audit, accounting operations.

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Practices and Standards

Asset Experience
Experience in participating or leading cross-functional working groups to address complex financial issues
Experience working in an operational program, a region or in a matrix organization
