By hiring the best candidates to staff our civilian positions, we are helping to achieve our law and order enforcement mandate.

Federal Policing's Mandate includes:
- investigating drugs and organized crime, economic crime, and terrorist criminal activity
- enforcing Federal statutes
- securing Canada's border
- conducting international capacity building, liaison and peacekeeping
- ensuring the safety of major events, state officials, dignitaries and foreign missions

Intent of the process

The intent is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions on an indeterminate basis, with linguistic profiles of English Essential and Bilingual Imperative (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC) and various security clearances (enhanced reliability, secret and top secret).

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternative.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in coordinating and organizing processes relevant to projects, training, events or initiatives;
Experience in the monitoring of projects, training or initiatives, including but not limited to the following: progress, activities, schedules, trends, quality, risks, resources, or budgets;
Experience in providing information, documentation and recommendations to management*, project stakeholders, team leaders and clients;
Experience in consulting with internal and/or external government organizations or the private sector.

*Management is defined to be at the Manager and Director level or equivalent or above.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field related to the position.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in developing and leading formal and/or informal training programs;
Experience in conducting data analysis to identify gaps and trends;
Experience in coordinating, administering, and/or experience in the planning of financial activities (resources, activities, budget and expenditures);
Experience working in a law enforcement environment.

ABILITY:
Ability to solve problems and make recommendations.

COMPETENCY:
Client-Oriented.

Conditions of employment

Various security clearances (RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status security clearance, RCMP Secret security clearance, RCMP Top Secret security clearance) - All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process which includes an interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), reference checks, previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
