Intent of the process

The immediate need is to fill one indeterminate (permanent) position in Gagetown, NB.

This process may be used to staff the same or similar positions with various tenures, language or security requirements within the Department of National Defence.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Occupational Certification:
Possession of a valid Journeyman certification in one or multiple Structural Shop trades as issued/recognized by the Apprenticeship and Certification Branch of New Brunswick.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
E1 - Experience supervising structural trade groups responsible for building and infrastructure maintenance as it relates to the structural trades. (i.e. carpentry, masonry, locksmith or painting).

E2 - Experience working in a computerized environment including working with Microsoft Office Suite.

Asset Experience:
AE1 - Experience supervising in a union environment and applying collective agreements.

AE2 - Experience producing financial estimates.

AE3 - Experience in managing a preventive maintenance program as it relates to painting, carpentry, masonry or locksmith work.

AE4 - Experience in developing effective project work schedules and presenting them in an effective way. (i.e. through the use of computer software to show schedules of multi-discipline/multi-trade project, such as Excel or Microsoft Project).

- heavy lifting (up to 30lbs continuously);
- working at heights;
- wearing all appropriate personal protective equipment; and
- willing to work in extreme weather conditions.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance

Must possess and maintain a valid Province of New Brunswick Class 5 Drivers License or other provincial/territorial equivalency.
