INFORMATION ON HOW TO APPLY:
-You will be required to demonstrate how you meet the education and each of the experience criteria listed in the essential qualifications and any of the applicable asset qualifications on the Statement of Merit Criteria for the initial screening by answering the online screening questions.
-Be sure to include substantiating details that clearly outline the breadth of experience as well as relevant timelines.
-It is not sufficient to only state that the qualification is met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities - you must also provide concrete examples. You must clearly demonstrate how, when, and where the qualification was met through substantiation by examples.
-Failure to clearly demonstrate how you meet the screening criteria (Education, Experience, Essential and Asset (if applicable)) may result in the rejection of your application. Candidates will not be solicited for incomplete or missing information.
The intent of this process is to staff various EG-06 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer positions with a linguistic profile of English Essential or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB in Ottawa, Ontario on an indeterminate or term basis. A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff identical or similar EG-06 positions across all regions indicated in this poster, with various tenures (indeterminate, term, or casual) and linguistic profiles (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB) in the future at Transport Canada.

Education:
ED1 : Successful completion of a recognized postsecondary school program in aircraft maintenance.
Occupational Certification:
OC1: Possession of a valid Canadian Aircraft Maintenance Engineer category License M1 and M2, or M2.
Experience:
EX1: Recent* and significant* experience as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, category M1 and M2, or M2, maintaining fixed or rotary wing aircraft.
*Definition of significant and recent experience: Significant experience means at least 3 years of relevant experience. Recent is defined as within the last 4 years.
Experience:
Maintenance type training and/or experience maintaining one or more of the following aircraft types:
- King Air Series
- Cessna Citation II
- Bombardier Challenger 600/601/604/650/RJ
- De Havilland Dash-7/Dash-8 Series
- Bell 206
- Bell 407
- Bell 412
- Bell 429
NOTE: Persons holding M1 and M2 may be considered over those just holding just M2.

Operational Requirements:
For all positions:
- Willingness and ability to undertake training to maintain or upgrade knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Willingness and ability to work in a flexible environment on a variable day work and/or shift work schedule, including weekends and some standby on the employee’s days of rest.
- Willingness and ability to work in various positions on aircraft and in the hangar, which may involve standing, kneeling, lying, and sitting as well as crawling into confined spaces and climbing elevated maintenance stands.
-Willingness and ability to work shifts and overtime on short notice during the week or on weekends.
For some positions:
- Willingness and ability to undertake initial and update dunker training.
- Willingness to perform flight engineer duties on aircraft operating away from base.
- Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods up to six (6) weeks at a time including aboard DFO/Canadian Coast Guard Ships in Coastal Waterways.
Secret security clearance
For all positions:
-Possession of a valid driver’s licence.
-Possession of a valid Canadian Passport.
For some positions:
-Successful completion of medical examinations as prescribed by Health Canada.
