Assessment accommodation

Duties

Regional lead, responsible for the Region’s dental programs and delivery of preventative, treatment and educational/promotional services and managing the day to day operations of the regional dental unit to ensure the availability and provision of quality dental services in First Nations communities in Manitoba Region.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, some employees of Indigenous Services Canada are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in an Indigenous Services Canada office located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
•Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in a field of Dentistry, Dental Therapy, Dental Hygienist or equivalent to the work to be performed.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
•Recent* and significant** experience in working with First Nations on complex issues.
•Experience in providing advice to management.
•Experience in managing the operations of a dental clinic, lab or program.

*Recent: Within the last 5 years.
**Significant: Minimum 2 years consulting on complex matters approximately on a monthly basis.

Conditions of employment

•Willingness to be on-call.
•Willingness to travel as per the demands of the job to communities in remote and urban areas using a variety of modes of transportation, such as, small aircraft, snowmobiles, cars, or all-terrain vehicles in all types of weather conditions.
