Duties

The RAP student will be participating in laboratory-based research and development activities at Health Canada’s Environmental and Radiation Health Sciences Directorate(ERHSD). The RAP student will have to complete the academic requirements successfully and abide by Health Canada’s code of conduct as well as information technology security and laboratory health and safety requirements.

Work environment

The RAP student will be participating in laboratory-based research and development activities at Health Canada’s Environmental Health Science and Research Bureau in support of the provision and modernization of health risk assessment as per the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and the Chemical Management Plan initiative.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position in the NCR where the employee will be required to physically go into the work building.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

The student must be enrolled or willing to enroll in a full-time Master’s degree program at the Faculty of Sciences in the Department of Biology at the University of Ottawa with a specialization in any of the following: Biology or Bioinformatics.

By the start date (January 02, 2023), the student must be registered at the Faculty of Sciences in the Department of Biology at the University of Ottawa in their first year of a Master’s program with specialization in biology or bioinformatics, for which supervised laboratory or field research is required for graduation.

Degree equivalency

Experience working in a molecular or cellular biology laboratory
