Duties

The research affiliate will assist the research professional and the student team (if applicable) in conducting research related to the evaluation of the effect of pressure blasting on weed competition. They will conduct a literature review for their project. They will evaluate different processes, collect and compile scientific data. They synthesize and analyze the data. They will also write a text that will be integrated into their master’s thesis.

Work environment

The research affiliate will have access to an office and a computer, as well as to the weeds laboratory at the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu research and development centre and the experimental plots will be located on the Frelighsburg federal farm. The research affiliate will also benefit from the technical support of a research professional.

Education:
Currently enrolled or will be enrolled by the date of appointment in a Master’s program in a recognized post-secondary academic institution with specialization in: Agri-food engineering or a related field.

Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. (Proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date) and must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience in agricultural mechanics.
Experience in applied engineering.
Experience in precision horticulture.
