Education:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Note:
Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

Experience:
A minimum of two years experience working in an IM/IT field in at least one of the following areas:
• IT Infrastructure Operations/Administration
• IT Desktop or Help Desk Support
• System Administration
• IT Service Management
• IT Security Operations, Incident Management and/or IT Security Risk Management.
A minimum of one (1) year experience* contributing to IM/IT projects or initiatives.
*Experience can include volunteer or school work
Experience gathering and documenting business or technical requirements.
Experience implementing and supporting workstations, laptops and peripherals in a networked environment.
Experience in providing end user support and troubleshooting for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.
Experience providing enterprise level technical support over the phone or via remote assistance within a large-scale organization for a minimum of one year.
Asset Qualifications:

• Experience in developing reports using tools such as Crystal Reports or Excel.
• Experience in managing multiple endpoint configurations using an enterprise endpoint management solution/technology in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Experience in testing, troubleshooting, deploying and reporting on software updates and patches in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Experience supporting IT acquisition and life cycle management of hardware and software products.
• Experience supporting and maintaining business applications in a multi-user environment.
• Experience implementing and supporting automated solutions.
• Experience supporting High Performance Computing environments.
• Recent* (last 5 years) in supporting specialized scientific or medical equipment and peripherals used in laboratories, fields and scientific research facilities.

ITIL Certification:
IT certified professional within industry recognized specialized areas such as but not limited to cloud, cybersecurity, technical support specialist, or other role based specialties.

Secret security clearance - In order to be appointed to a position, a Security Clearance (either Reliability level or Secret level) will be required. You will be expected to maintain this clearance throughout the duration of your employment.

ASSESSEMENT INFORMATION
You must meet all essential qualifications in order to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed.
