The intent of this selection process is to create a pool of fully or partially qualified candidates to be used to staff these or similar or lower level positions within Fisheries and Oceans Canada in Newfoundland and Labrador. This process may be used to staff various tenures, including indeterminate, specified period, deployment, assignment, secondment and acting.

EDUCATION:
- Graduation with degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience consulting a wide variety of stakeholders, groups and organizations
- Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships
- Experience briefing or providing advice to senior management/officials on complex issues
- Experience analyzing complex or sensitive issues
- Experience writing proposals, briefing notes or similar documentation
EDUCATION:
- Graduation with a Master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in managing marine or inland fisheries or in the delivery of services pertaining to the Canadian fishing industry
- Experience with cost-benefit or risk analysis to assess the socioeconomic impacts of proposed public policy or plans
- Experience participating in multi-disciplinary teams or working groups
- Experience presenting in public forums to industry stakeholders or special interest groups
- Experience relating to the management of commercial, recreational, or Indigenous fisheries resources in Newfoundland and Labrador
