Assessment accommodation

Candidates must clearly demonstrate with concrete examples, IN THE PRE-SCREENING QUESTIONS, how they meet the education and experience factors listed in the essential qualifications. Only screening questionnaire will be used during pre-screening process. We may use resumes as a secondary source to validate the answers to the pre-screening questions. Candidates who fail to provide sufficient information will be eliminated from further consideration.

Work environment

By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families, and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.

Currently we are using a hybrid telework schedule where we are working in the office as well as working from home. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their workspaces.

The pool also be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various language requirements, various security requirements, as well as various locations within Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC).

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION :
• Graduation with a nursing diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution* with acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position.

*Recognized post-secondary institution: A public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.

Degree equivalency

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION :
• Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE :
• Experience* in providing Home Care or Primary Care Nursing in one or more of the following areas:
- Wound management
- Chronic disease management
- Palliative care

• Experience* in performing health assessments and determining the appropriate course of action using professional practice and workplace protocols.

*Experience equivalent to 12 months on a full-time basis* working as a registered nurse providing nursing services to individuals, groups and families at the community level in order to promote & protect health and prevent illness.

• Continuous professional registration in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba
• Willingness to complete education/training relevant to the position.
• Maintain current and ongoing certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation-Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain certification in other certification programs as deemed necessary by employer.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license or personal mobility associated with the possession of a valid driver’s license.
